  • Mountain Biking Trails

    Arrowhead Recreational Area

    Arrowhead downhill trails in Claremont provide a shared space for mountain bikers, hikers, and ATV riders. In 2021 and 2022, the Arrowhead Recreational Area was the chosen site of the Maxxis Eastern States Cup Enduro Series race, an Enduro World Series Qualifying Event. More than 300 riders took part in the races. Arrowhead’s expert terrain attracts mountain bikers from across the East Coast! 

    The Eastern College Conference mountain bike race also takes place at Arrowhead and brings hundreds of college students and their supporters to the region for the weekend. 

    Mount Sunapee Resort

    Mount Sunapee Resort has bike rentals, a variety of levels of trail, and Evolution Bike Park with over 5 miles of downhill mountain biking trails to enjoy. 

    New Hampshire Motocross Park

    The NHMX, formerly known as Jolly Roger MX, offers two motocross tracks surrounded by mature trees. It is located near Lempster and, at 1.5 miles long, the main track features natural terrain, loamy soil, gravel, sand, and clay.

    Upper Valley Mountain Bike Association (UVMBA)

    UVMBA maintains and expands access to multi-use, non-motorized trails in the Upper Valley of NH and VT. UVMBA is a volunteer, community-driven organization. Check out their website for mountain biking trail information, including downhill trails on an abandoned ski area in Plainfield and trails through the Cornish Town Forest.

    The Sullivan County ATV Club is a local ATV club with trails located in Claremont, Newport, Cornish and Unity. See their website for descriptions of ATV trails in the Sugar River Region.

  • Cross-Country Skiing Trails

    The Sugar River Region has a number of cross-country skiing areas. Check out the Sullivan County Country Lands and Community Programs and the New Hampshire State Parks websites to explore cross-country skiing trails. In addition, Eastman Cross Country Ski Center is one of the state’s best cross country skiing areas with 36 km of trails.
