Here are some of our favorite places to start:

Family-friendly Stays

Just a five-minute drive from Mount Sunapee and a short walk to Lake Sunapee, Hideaway Inn Mt. Sunapee (pictured above) offers a playful take on a stay in the region. Each room is distinct in design, with whimsical details adding a personal touch.

With an indoor pool, a large game room, and shared spaces inside and out that are designed for gathering, it’s a great fit for families or groups looking for something casual, social, and very up-to-date.

Just a bit closer to Sunapee Harbor, also minutes from Mount Sunapee, the Lodge by Sunapee Stays is an Adirondack-inspired boutique property with 11 well-appointed suites ranging from studios to one- and two-bedroom layouts, each with a sleek kitchenette.
With mountain views, an outdoor pool and a game room on site, it offers a comfortable and flexible home base for visitors looking for a more self-contained stay.

Lakeviews and Genteel Hospitality

Just northeast of Sunapee, overlooking Kezar Lake in North Sutton, the Follansbee Inn is a classic lakeside inn offering award-winning genteel hospitality. The historical property’s elegant and comfortable interiors sparkle with natural light and lake views amid antiques and original art.

In summer, you can relax on the inn’s private dock or select a paddle from the boat house to explore the lake. Mornings begin with the legendary breakfasts prepared by the resident chef and innkeeper. At sunset, take your glass of wine down to the dock and listen for the loons calling.

Heading toward the Connecticut River, The Chase House Inn is the birthplace and childhood home of Salmon P. Chase, Abraham Lincoln’s Secretary of the Treasury, and later, Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Located in Cornish, about eight miles north of Claremont on NH Route 12A, the two-and-a-half wood frame house was built c. 1790. Today, it is a luxurious country inn where guests enjoy the relaxing and beautiful setting. Nearby amenities include hiking trails, Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park, and Dartmouth College.
