The Sugar River Region Hiking Challenge
Join us on the trail! The Sugar River Region Hiking Challenge invites you to explore ten local hikes, each chosen for the rewarding views waiting at the top and the journey it takes to get there. Along the way you’ll enjoy quiet forest paths, climb to scenic overlooks, and discover corners of the region you might never otherwise find. The collection is designed to lead you across the Sugar River Region, from wooded hillsides to rocky viewpoints, offering new perspectives on our beautiful region with every climb.
Ready to take the challenge? Download your Sugar River Region Hiking Challenge Trail Tracker, check off each hike as you go, and send it to us when you’ve completed all ten.
The challenge features hikes in Claremont (Green Mountain Trail), Newport (Coit Mountain & Pinnacle Loop), Charlestown (Crown Point Trail), Washington (Five Summers Trail at Pillsbury State Park), Plainfield (French’s Ledges), Newbury/Sunapee (Andrew Brook Trail), Unity (Sullivan County’s Unity Mountain Trail), Lempster (Silver Mountain), Goshen (Ruth LeClair Memorial Trail at Gunnison Lake), and Grantham (Little Mount Washington).
Complete all ten hikes to earn a commemorative embroidered patch to mark the accomplishment and the miles under your boots. When you’ve finished, mail your completed Trail Tracker with a $15 check payable to Discover Sugar River Region, and we’ll send you your patch.
