The Old Courthouse
The Old Courthouse, established in 2004, has become a fixture in the Sugar River and Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee area dining scenes. Dine in a beautiful Federalist era building located in the heart of Newport’s Downtown Historic District. This circa-1826 building served as the district courthouse for the past twenty-five years. It is located behind the Newport Opera House and features an elegant dining room and full-service bar.
Our family-owned business has carefully preserved the elegance and simplicity of the building to provide a unique dining experience.

Mary ShapiroOur first time experiencing the brunch. We were celebrating our daughter’s 36th birthday and we’re not disappointed-. Everyone from the chef to the greeter to our waitress were so friendly and went above and beyond to make our dinning experience special. The two musicians ( soft piano and guitar) started playing happy birthday and surprisingly a piece of delicious pie with a candle was presented to our daughter - on the house! The food was exceptional, delicious, fresh and homemade! The best dinning experience we have had in a long time! Highly recommend!

CThis is a quaint restaurant. It felt upscale with the tables the linens & the flowers on the table. The server was attentive. The food was generous ,interesting and enjoyable, but it felt overpriced for what it was. My favorite part was the dessert. My biggest suggestion is to dim the lights way down for a more intimate experience. There was lovely live music ( Pics: Stuffed pork very tasty, traditional polish plate pierogies were very good, & traditional polish dessert. )

Tina PlossThe staff was friendly, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was quiet, romantic and very enjoyable. We had Beth as our waitress and she took her time to explain everything on the buffet, kept our drinks full and made sure to clean our plates as soon as we were done. We never felt rushed and she was always smiling when she came to check in on us. The food was delicious, warm still when served, looked delicious and the deserts were fantastic! We can't wait to go again!

Highly recommend this restaurant for a nice Sunday brunch to start what is normally believed to be the final day for the weekend.
