Ryan MazierskiSaint-Gaudens National Historical Park is an exceptional National Park in Cornish, NH. The park was home to Augustus Saint-Gaudens, one of America’s greatest sculptors. At the park you can see his former home, gardens, and studios. The park exhibits many of Saint-Gaudens most well known works including the Robert Gould Shaw Memorial, the Adams Memorial, Abraham Lincoln: The Man Statue, the Farragut Memorial, and a statue of the Greek goddess Diana. All the recasts/replicas are presented in a breathtaking manner and it is a privilege to see all the works in one place. You can also visit the sculptor's home; Aspet. Guided tours are provided at the home by knowledgeable docents. The home displays great works of art and has great views of Mt. Ascutney. The gardens surrounding the home are also well kept. The home has scheduled visiting hours which are different from those of the rest of the park. Be sure to check ahead of time if you plan on seeing the home. The sculptor’s studio is also a one of a kind experience. The studio looks as it did when Saint-Gaudens used it. The park also has a variety of hiking trails that go around the estate. Overall, this is a unique historical park that encapsulates the work of one of America’s greatest sculptors.

Crista CWe spent most of the day there learning about the sculptor, seeing his artwork and home, and walking the grounds. We even got to experience a classical music concert. Beautiful area, and staff was incredibly friendly. I would have liked to learn more about his personal life (and Augustas) and the Cornish art colony though.
