Mark LymanI would skip this hike. It gets increasingly difficult as you approach the summit. At the summit, you are barely above the tree line. Yes, you have some good views, but considering the difficulty the ROI just wasn’t there for me.

Eric RuffinParking is on the right on Halfmoon Pond Rd just a short ways past the pond, road is marked with the metal Greenway blazes and continues up a class 6 dirt road a short distance before turning left into the woods there is a Lovewell Mountain Trail sign. Hike is about 2.5 miles each way, summit views of the Ragged Kearsarge and Sunapee. Leash your dogs as there are many different rodents that live close to the trail.

Steve TThis out of the way gem is a great hike with some solitude likely. Beautiful woods, a view at the top, and a shelter as well. Stop at the Washington General Store before you head home.
