AsherI parked on the stones before the pedestrian bridge. Use Google Maps to get there as the parking place isn't signposted. The trail starts off as a flat dirt road and then goes to a clearing where it turns left (2nd pic). Then it's a rock/dirt path and comes out very close to the summit of Sunapee and with marvelous views. It was steeper towards the end but pretty moderate overall. The trail is very well marked blue and would be easy to follow even if it weren't. Interestingly it wasn't signposted or marked from the summit. We didn't see anyone on the hike nor any other cars in the parking area, despite it being a warm late September saturdsy. No views until the summit but the shade was appreciated. Lovely foliage. Would recommend this hike, and detouring to the Lake Solitude cliffs as I did!

Eric RuffinTurn onto a dirt drive at the sharp turn halfway down Brook rd, drive splits, parking is to the left of the foot bridge trailhead, overflow or winter parking is on the shoulder of the dirt drive. Follow blue blazes up this well marked and maintained logging road, primarily through hardwoods, to the summit of Mount Sunapee which has okay views. Moderate terrain at best and the trail can be very very wet after storms or winter. This route is frequented by ATVs, Jeeps and side-by-sides so be alert. Also, in many places poison sumac grows abundantly along the sides of the trail.

Yenda'me MaliaI was looking for my old haunts from the 90s but found this instead. Did an honorary birthday ride for my late husband, and the trail did not disappoint. It was a perfect mix of rocky climbs and thrilling descents. I left there covered in an iron-rich mud that would put a smile on the face of any true lover of the sport. Get out there and enjoy this lovely trial!
