This is a large, historic Inn with great views of the lake and beautiful surrounding gardens. The mattress in the Barbara Elizabeth room is VERY firm so if that's your preference you will sleep well. I was a bit disappointed that the furnishings in the room were different than in the photo on the website, as I selected the room due to the comfy looking rocking chair & ottoman shown in the photo. The antique chairs that were in the room, were not comfortable, so we spent most of our time downstairs in the common areas which proved to be the highlight of the visit (see below). Breakfast was delicious and unique. The freshly squeezed orange juice was amazing! Fresh brewed coffee was out early, so if you're up prior to breakfast at 8 AM, enjoy your first cup out by the lake in one of the many comfortable chairs. What I enjoyed most about this Inn, was the common areas. My husband and I struck up the most enjoyable conversations with fellow guests as many of us congregated in the downstairs areas and out on the porch. If you enjoy making new friends, I highly recommend you spend some time in the common areas or choose to eat breakfast at a communal table and get to know your fellow guests. On our first night, Kendall put out a big bowl of popcorn that we all enjoyed while we chatted. Water and single serve coffee was available 24/7. In an adjourning room, I could hear other guests playing board games from a variety offered. Overall, a great stay!
Jul 28, 2026 · Google ReviewDenis hosted us at the inn for a 25 year college dorm reunion. We had a large group, and the inn was ideal for us all. Some families stayed in the suites while couples had their own space. We loved the lake access area, and were in and out of the provided kayaks all day. Denis was great to work with for setting up our get together, and we plan to be back in the future. Breakfast was amazing and we really felt lucky to find a place that worked so well for all of us.
Jul 30, 2026 · Google ReviewWe just returned from our first trip to Follansbee Inn! Everyone there was so welcoming that we immediately felt relaxed and at home upon our arrival. We truly enjoyed this lakeside inn and all the amenities it offered: hiking around the lake, kayaks, bikes, paddle boards, swimming, delicious, hearty breakfasts with gluten free items daily!! The inn is beautiful too with a gorgeous porch, beautiful open spaces in the game room, library and dining room. We enjoyed a competitive game of Skipbo our first night there! I highly recommend this lively inn and plan to return again soon!
Aug 8, 2026 · Google ReviewOur stay at The Follansbee Inn was wonderful. The building is beautiful, the staff are welcoming, the atmosphere is relaxed, the situation of the Inn beside Lake Kezar was stunning and the use of the paddle boards and canoes was very appreciated. I can’t fault our stay, it was deeply relaxing and peaceful.
Aug 19, 2026 · Google ReviewThe Follansbee Inn is, by far, one of the nicest inns we've stayed at. The innkeepers, Dennis and Kendall, go above and beyond to make guests feel special and pampered. The breakfasts are amazing. They even prepared gluten- and dairy-free meals for me. Early morning walks around Kezar Lake are one of the highlights. Thank you, Dennis and Kendall, for a fabulous visit.
