Five Summers Trailhead at Pillsbury State Park

Hiking Challenge, Hiking, Explore And ExperienceGoshen, NH 03752, USA

A longer, quieter outing through the heart of Pillsbury State Park, the Five Summers Trail offers a steady journey through forest before climbing to a well-earned view. Beginning near the park’s day-use area, the trail follows a wide corridor—often used as a snowmobile route—winding through stands of yellow birch and mixed woodland with a gentle, rolling feel for much of the way.

As you near Lucia’s Lookout, the route leaves the main trail and begins a more sustained climb. The footing becomes rockier here, and the final stretch requires a bit more effort, but the reward is an open viewpoint looking east across the surrounding hills and forests. It’s a satisfying finish after a longer hike that feels pleasantly removed from busier trails.

With its length and gradual elevation gain, this is a moderately challenging hike best suited for those looking to spend a few hours on the trail. Expect a quiet experience, light trail markings in places, and a sense of discovering a more tucked-away corner of the region. Day-use fees apply: Adults $4, Children (6–11) $2, Children 5 and under free, and New Hampshire residents age 65+ free.
