Great hiking. Good moderate trails. A couple of steep sections. Much of trail has lots of roots and rocks. Very well marked at intersections. Most of trail is wide enough for two people. Saw a black bear and moose skat.
Aug 16, 2021 · Google ReviewBear Pond Trail is the second of three trails leading from the Monadock Sunapee Greenway into Pillsbury State Park. Heading north a mile or so the hiker can travel along the Monadock Sunapee Greenway to Five Summers Trailhead, which loops southward back into Pillsbury State Park. Or the hiker could travel south along the Greenway for slightly more than two miles and cross over into Pillsbury State Park utilizing the much shorter Ridge Link Trail. Either way, the hiker will encounter a few surprises including a couple of black bears. Enjoy!
