Me and my partner ate at the blue canoe this past 4th of July weekend. Even though it was busy we were able to get sat and greeted right away. The service was great and everyone there was super friendly. We both were in the mood for seafood so I got the whole branzino and he got the grilled rainbow trout. For the price I felt like the whole branzino was slightly on the small side and I wish it came with more greens to sit on. Regardless everything tasted great and we both left full and happy.
Jul 9, 2026 · Google ReviewSecond visit June 2026 Second trip back. Can’t beat the location so that’s a 5/5. Service still good. Had the oyster platter comes w only three and tonight’s selection was Goose ledge ME oysters. This is a small oyster not briny and overall just ok. Priced at $4/piece so maybe I was paying for gas prices as it really wasn’t worth it. Came w one lemon wedge and mignonette. Clam chowder was good. Not as creamy as I like coming from MA but it was tasty. Nice clam to potato ratio. Entree was seared tuna w choice of 2 sides. I downgraded my rating as on my last visit they allowed us to place Cajun seasoning on the chicken sandwich but this visit they up charged for $2, which is absurd considering it’s offered as a choice on fish plus it’s $20 to begin with so that was very disappointing. Especially, since I dropped over $130 for two people. Overall, definitely a beauty place to eat so stop by if you have a chance. First visit: 5/5 All the way!! Opened 7 weeks ago and we did not experience any growing pains. They knocked it out of the park. From the food to location to great service. Opened year round with outdoor seating that is seasonal. Full bar. Nice selection of wine and great crafted cocktails. Looks cozy inside w room for a larger party. Started with the cornbread with maple butter. Soft with a crispy top and mouthwatering maple butter had me contemplating what else could I slather this on. Choice of lobster roll hot or cold. Reasonably priced at $36. Comes with fries or coleslaw. Husband ordered chicken sandwich and they accommodated his request for blackened Cajun seasoning. Dessert menu was lovely and we had the crème brûlée that did not disappoint. We sat on the water and it was a beautiful Fall day!! I can not wait to come back!
Jun 14, 2026 · Google ReviewMy cousin and I optimistically launched the boat with black clouds looming and made it past the no wake marker in the harbor as we witnessed the first lightning bolt. We bolted back to the dock, tied up and ran to The Blue Canoe as the skies opened with torrential rain. Were we ever lucky! The staff gleefully greeted us as we came in out of the rain and happily told us to pick a table. Melissa came to our table and took the brunt of our silly dad jokes without a flinch. We knew we wanted to bide our time until the storm past. We ordered our beers and slow rolled our food order. Melissa was happily accommodating but I’m sure relieved when we ordered the Crispy Gochujang Chicken Wings to share. A friendly staff member casually stopped by and described the Chef’s wonderful obsession about massaging his flavorful marinade into those chicken wings and letting them rest overnight to absorb the flavor. The crispy wings arrived and we were treated to the fruits of his labor. They were crispy, full of flavor and slip off the bone delicious. We were two very happy guys! Next, opting for something a little lighter, we went for the bowl dishes. Not that we both didn’t contemplate the Grilled 8-ounce Beef Burger. 🍔 Haha. My cousin chose the Faroe Island Salmon Poke bowl, while I chose the Crispy Coconut Shrimp bowl. Both bowls were fresh and delicious. All throughout our visit Melissa was jovial and the staff was friendly. Speaking for myself, I need to go back and bring some friends to try more items of the Chef’s menu. I’ll update you with another review on my next visit!
Sep 12, 2025 · Google ReviewA beautiful lakeview restaurant that we stopped by for our VT to MA fall foliage tour. Captured the delicious dishes, and I must say, to whatever you are contemplating to order right as you read my review, please go ahead and order your starter - my absolute favorite “Spicy Blue Crab Rangoon Gratin” - while you decide for the rest. Crispy Coconut Shrimp and Crispy Pork Belly Bowl(which was a lunch special for the weekend) was phenomenal as well. The servers and manger was very cordial and loved their service. To anyone looking for a relaxing and worthwhile dining restaurant, this is your spot!
Oct 13, 2025 · Google ReviewThe Mussels were delicious! The view was great watching boats come in and out as we were seated on the patio. Our day trip was complete in a very positive way after having dinner here.
