We stopped at this Mexican cantina in Claremont while driving back from a ski trip in Vermont, just looking for a good place to grab lunch. It had solid reviews, but we were not expecting anything special. What a surprise this place turned out to be. From the outside it looks fairly small, but once you walk in you realize the restaurant is actually very spacious. We parked right on the street with no problem since it was lunchtime. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a big smile by the host and seated right away. The place is beautifully decorated, very well put together, and extremely clean. That alone made a great first impression. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the layout gave the restaurant plenty of space so it never felt cramped. Our server was Francisco, who was also working behind the bar, and he was absolutely on top of his game. Friendly, attentive, and very helpful with suggestions. We ordered drinks and a few appetizers, and everything came out quickly. The food was fantastic. Great flavors, good portions, and a lot of variety on the menu. What made the experience even better were the prices, which were extremely reasonable. This place is about an hour and a half from where I live, but honestly, if I am ever back in the area I would absolutely go out of my way to stop here again. Service was amazing, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the place was spotless. Easy five stars.
Mar 14, 2026 · Google ReviewThe service was amazing & very friendly. The location was easy to find & the restaurant was clean and inviting. The food though, was bland. We got chips & salsa to start. There was no salt on the chips & the salsa tasted like watered down ketchup. My burrito was ok, nothing to hit home about. It was bland, lacking seasonings & flavor. My husband’s skirt steak was chewy and had no seasoning. We only finished our plates because we were starving & we were paying for it. Overall, we wouldn’t be back. When we think of Mexican cuisine, we think of incredible flavor profiles & spice. We got very basic, bland food.
Mar 24, 2026 · Google ReviewSo happy we stopped here during our travels. Angel was our server. Very prompt & helpful. The lady assisting him was kind, attentive, and also prompt. The chips were warm and the salsa was fresh. We had the Luise combo with crunchy taco & tamale with rice & Charro Beans, also a chile relleno and steak quesadilla. Everything was great! We will definitely stop in again during our next travels.
Dec 13, 2025 · Google ReviewMy family loves Rancho Viejo. The food is fresh, the drinks are great, the beer is cold, and the staff are always friendly, laughing, taking with everyone, and there's very little wait time despite being very busy. Take out is very fast and the portions are incredible. They don't skimp on takeout orders which we appreciate. The restaurant has always been clean when we eat in, including the restrooms. Try the birria tacos!
May 26, 2026 · Google ReviewBest mexican food in New Hampshire 100% the flavors are amazing, I am never disappointed. I love this place so much and always recommend it to people, the servers are always nice and very helpful. The prices are not bad for what you get and they are very accommodating for vegetarians. They also have a bar in the back and its super cute and is a nice place to sit and have a couple margaritas with your friends.
