Protectworth Brewing
Protectworth Brewing Company began in a Springfield garage, where small-batch brews and a loyal Saturday crowd laid the groundwork for what it is today—a laid-back riverside brewery in Newport.
Set just off John Stark Highway along the Sugar River, Protectworth is the kind of place you can roll into straight off the Rail Trail or on your way through and stay longer than you planned. With 17 rotating taps, tasting flights are the way in, offering a chance to try a little of everything, from creative house brews to hard seltzers and local collaborations—like their hard cider made with Beaver Pond Farm.
There’s usually something going on: Pizza Hero Food Truck serving up slices on site, Monday night trivia, and live music—such as JD and the Stonemasons on the first Thursday of each month. Dogs are welcome on the patio.

Jan 3, 2026 · Google ReviewUpdate review: This brewery is still worth checking out! The best in the area. They rotate their beers quite often with unique flavors! I am recently obsessed with SooNipi hollow blueberry golden ale! So delicious! Everyone here is like family! Both my husband and I come here at least once a week! We consider this place as our second home! Great beers, great people and great atmosphere! Worth checking out!
Aug 10, 2025 · Google ReviewProtectworth Brewing in Newport, NH for a couple flights & a pint of some excellent craft beer. This is one brewery I had really wanted to check out for a bit now, but the distance had made it difficult, the trip ended up exceeding my expectations & was well worth my time. A good vibe from the second I stepped in with a small arcade corner with some 80's gaming staples & a heavy emphasis on a "Star Wars" theme, (the original trilogy thankfully) plus of course what I came in for, beer. I was delighted to see that there was a good amount of offerings here including a bunch of varying styles with a Scotch Ale which is a current favorite of mine. 🍻🍺💪🔥🔥 I had nine different beers while here, but I'll just talk about my favorite five. The 4oz taster of the COLE POND PALE ALE was a crisp 5.5%ABV above average bold pale ale containing some excellent flavor. The second taster was the GRANITE AMBER ALE Red Ale which has become one of my favorite styles over this winter season & this one f&%ked harder than most, good stuff. The third taster was the above average MORDECAI THE BROWN Brown Ale, which as I was working myself darker & darker here, was perfect before I got to the stout. The fourth taster was the DARTH SAURON 8.5%ABV Imperial Stout that lit my mouth on fire with flavor & mixing Star Wars with Lord of the Rings references probably made me enjoy it even more. I then finished off my trip with the smooth 7%ABV FULL KILT Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy which was delicious, with just the right balance of malty & smoky flavors. William Wallace would have been proud of this beer I'm sure. 🍻🔥🔥❄❄ A good amount of seating options packed the taproom with all the usual including bar, tables & hightops with outside seating during warmer weather. The Pizza Hero food truck was parked outside pumping out some pizzas for a few of the customers that showed up while we visited. One of the co-owner's Tim, who also is a brewer there was behind the bar slinging the goods & was very easy to talk to & definitely informative about his beers & operation. Always nice to meet & yap with the brewer if it's slow enough for them to converse with you. I was letting out audible borderline sexual gasps while drinking that Scotch Ale which must have been slightly weird, but it was a compliment. 🤷♂️ All & all well worth the trip into a part of New Hampshire I hadn't been to & hopefully I'll get the chance to go again in the next few years. 🍻🍻🔥💪✌♥️🍺 BEERGASM RATING - 69/92 I'LL PROBABLY COME AGAIN IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN, FOR THE BEER THAT IS. 🍻🍻🍻🍆🍆🍆💦💦💦💤💤✌♥️🍺 #craftbeer #supportlocal #beerstagram #BeerGoals #untappd #NewHampshire #newengland #newhampshireeats #beer #brewery #brewerylife #bartender #nhbrewed #nhbrewery #food #foodporn #beergasm #foodgasm #drinklocal #eatlocal #wildweekend
