Kim Varney ChandlerState of New Hampshire Covered Bridge No. 20. The Cornish-Windsor Bridge was constructed by James F. Tasker of Cornish and Bela J. Fletcher of Claremont in 1866. The bridge was framed in a nearby meadow and reassembled over the river. Tasker and Fletcher used a modified version of the Town lattice truss, using square timbers instead of planks to form the lattice, and they notched and bolted the lattice members together instead of using traditional trunnels. According to covered bridge historian Joseph Conwill, notched timber lattice bridges were not commonplace, and the Cornish-Windsor Bridge is the only surviving example.
