State of New Hampshire Covered Bridge No. 20. The Cornish-Windsor Bridge was constructed by James F. Tasker of Cornish and Bela J. Fletcher of Claremont in 1866. The bridge was framed in a nearby meadow and reassembled over the river. Tasker and Fletcher used a modified version of the Town lattice truss, using square timbers instead of planks to form the lattice, and they notched and bolted the lattice members together instead of using traditional trunnels. According to covered bridge historian Joseph Conwill, notched timber lattice bridges were not commonplace, and the Cornish-Windsor Bridge is the only surviving example.

Stumbled apon this bridge by accident after taking a wrong turn when my GPS wouldn't load. What a wonderful mistake it was. Such a beautiful bridge on a beautiful sunny day. My recently late mother loved covered bridges, and I took this as a sign from her. Naturally I pulled over to take some pics. Thanks mom for leading me down this road 🙂

Located at the New Hampshire-Vermont state line, the historic Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge is an impressive landmark. It is highly recommended for visitors to experience the bridge by driving through it. The structure is frequently used by local traffic, often at high speeds, so walking across the bridge is not advised. For those wishing to stop and view the bridge, there is a parking area on the New Hampshire side, which can accommodate approx 3 vehicles.

Beautiful, well kept historic site at the NH-VT State line. There is an area to park to the left, facing the bridge on the NH side. Easily could park 3-5 average cars there. We parked, got out and looked at the bridge, and took pictures at the NH welcome sign.

Built in 1866, the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge has become one of New England's cherished landmarks in both New Hampshire and Vermont. The Bridge is still in use today. It is also a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors interested in its history and beautiful setting.
